Smoke & Volume Control Damper
Fire and smoke dampers are important safety devices used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to help prevent the spread of fire and smoke throughout a building.
Fire dampers are designed to prevent the spread of fire through ductwork by automatically closing when the temperature in the duct reaches a certain threshold, usually around 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius). Fire dampers can also be triggered by smoke detectors or manual switches.
Smoke dampers, on the other hand, are designed to prevent the spread of smoke through ductwork by closing automatically when smoke is detected. Smoke dampers can also be triggered by fire alarm systems.
